My experience includes counselling in private practice for insurance and legal companies, and Primary and Secondary Care with the NHS, where I have worked extensively with a wide range of issues, helping people to resolve emotional and psychological problems quickly and effectively.
I work with many clients in the areas of anxiety, depression, stress and loss. People also often experience relationship issues and I work effectively with people to resolves these, whether as individuals or as couples.
While developing my practice, I have grown to specialise in working with clients who are suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD and associated forms of emotional trauma. If you have suffered form an event or series of events that threatened your safety and the memories won’t go away, if you suffer from flashbacks or nightmares or if you find that you can’t go to some places, or if you aren’t able to enjoy work or relationships in the same way that you did before the event, then I can probably help you.
Help can be arranged with just a few clicks.
Whatever the issues or problems are that challenge you, they are specific to you and the way I work with clients is to treat those matters with the realisation that their situation is unique to them. You will find yourself being treated confidentially, safely and with the fullest attention. What you share with me will always be treated with the strictect confidentiality. I work my clients in a way that involves being as much as possible ‘in their shoes’, seeing themselves and their world from their own point of view.
How we would work together within sessions depends on what your specific issues are.
We will make an assessment of the situation together. Everything about how I see us working doing together will be explained, but I want to stress that this process is collaborative, so that we work together on whatever the issues are. You are the expert on who you are, and I would be frequently checking on where we are to see that we are on the right track from your point of view.
This will typically be done by setting goals and actively working towards them in an appropriate way, at a pace that suits you.
This depends on your situation and how much time is required before we reach a point where you, the client, are satisfied with what we have achieved. We will review your progress together periodically, the first time being during the fourth session, if that has been reached.
My clients are not asked to commit to a set number of sessions.
